Robert (Trott) Treat was born about 1538 / 1540 in South Trendle, Pitminster, Somerset, England, son of Richard Trott (~1495 - <1570) and Joanna (Scadding) Trott (~1508 - <1577). He was "probably baptized in the hamlet of Trendle, now Trull, parish of Pitminster," Somersetshire, England. [1]
Robert married Honoria Yumbert (~1536 - 1627) in 1568. Their children were:[1]
Robert "probably resided in the southern part Trendle, now Trull, a hamlet in the parish of Pitminster.[1]
Robert Trott's son Richard changed his last name from Trott to Treat after he emigrated from England to Massachusetts Bay Colony in the 1630s.[2]
Robert died before 16 Feb 1599 in Taunton Manor, Pitminster, Somerset aged ~58, and was buried on "February 16, 1599 in Pitminster," Somersetshire, England. [1]Robert's Will, 1598 - [15]99, was probated at Taunton, [Somersetshire, England], file vii, No. 195, old calendar, but unfortunately has "utterly perished."[1]
