Biography

Mary (Trotter) Byrd was born in Kentucky.

Mary Magdalene Trotter was born 9 July 1917, in Christian County, Kentucky, United States.^[1] She was the daughter of Balfred Ezekiel Trotter and Lovie Mary Gray.^[1] The 1920 and 1930 censuses shows her living with her parents in Christian County, Kentucky.^[2][3]

In the 1940 census, she was recorded living at the Niles Hotel in Dawson Springs, Hopkins, Kentucky, where she was employed as a saleslady in a variety store.^[4] On 3 April 1950, she was recorded in the census, living in Pigeon, Evansville, Vanderburgh, Indiana, where she was employed as a lab technician for baby food manufacturing. The record shows she was never married.^[5] Mary, age 32, married Dorwin A Byrd, age 34, on 1 July 1950 in Little Rock, Pulaski, Arkansas. They were both residents of Evansville, Indiana, prior to their wedding.^[6] Her husband Dorwin Andrew Byrd, son of Orval Pearl Byrd and Alberta Parr, was born 19 July 1915 in Ferguson, Marshall, Iowa. Mary and Dorwin didn't have any children.

Mary Magdalene (Trotter) Byrd, age 60, died 2 January 1978 in Evansville, Vanderburgh, Indiana, and was buried at Macedonia Cemetery West in Era, Christian, Kentucky, United States.^[1][7] Her husband Dorwin died 25 April 1996 in Evansville, Vanderburgh, Indiana, and was buried at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Evansville.^[8]
