Biography
William Trotter was born April 25, 1808. William married Roseann Houck (1814-1892) a native of Gallia county, Ohio. Note: Rosanne's name taken from their daughter's death record. [1] The informant for their daughter, Elizabeth, was Ollie Houck. Elizabeth's death certificate gives William's place of birth as West Virginia, however the state of West Virginia was not formed until 1863.
Children of William and Roseann are:
- Elizabeth J. Trotter, born 1835, died 1916, married Francis Gilmore (1833-1868)
- Mary A. Trotter, born February 18, 1837, died February 4, 1882, in Gallia county, Ohio, married Lemuel Vinton Waugh (1827-1911) in 1860
- Armena Trotter, born April 5, 1840, died October 10, 1902, married Joseph Lindle (1832-1891)
- John Trotter, born March 20, 1842, died June 25, 1927
- Nancy Trotter, born 1845, died 1914, married Gideon Frownfelter (1842-1933)
- Thomas Morgan Trotter, born February 28, 1857, died November 13, 1918, married Luella Hazlett
William died October 18, 1895, in Angel, Harrison Township, Gallia, Ohio. His death records reported his place of birth as unknown. We do know from his death record that his occupation was a Farmer, and wife preceded him in death. [2] William is buried in the Earwood Cemtery, in Gallia county, Ohio. [3]
