Biography
Hester L. Waggy, 101, died peacefully at Orrville Pointe Nursing Home, Orrville, May 29, 2012.
She was born June 9, 1910, in Essex, Mo., the first of three children to James Harvey and Rhoda (Wilkerson) Trotter. Both parents died when Hester was 8 years old. The children were raised by the Trotter and Wilkerson grandparents in Missouri and Arkansas.
She married Lynn B. Waggy of Glenville, W.Va., and subsequently lived in Marion; Glenville W.Va.; Winfield; Uvalde, Texas.; Rittman; and Wayne Manor Assisted Living, Smithville.
Surviving are children, L. Eugene Waggy (Barbara) of Granger, Texas, Glenn A. Waggy (Ellen) of Seville, Lowell D. Waggy of Brooksville, Fla., and Anita E. Hammond (Wayne) of LaPorte, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; nephews, Tom Trotter (Joan) of Hanna City, Ill., and Gary Gravis of Novato, Calif.; and a niece, Cortez (Cliff) Hake of Mesa, Ariz.
Hester was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn; a brother, Albert Trotter; a sister, Eloise Gravis; and 10-year-old grandchild, Makayla Brooks Waggy.
