Biography

Henry was born 1790. He was a son of Frederick Troxel Sr. and Anna Hess. [1]

He married Letha Anderson 11 Jul 1811 Grayson County, Kentucky, and had a large family of 5 sons and 5 daughters. [1]

They were living in Grayson county, Kentucky in 1820.[2]

They moved to Illinois. They lived in Mackinaw, Tazewell, Illinois in 1830.[3] There was a man aged 60-70 in the household who may have been Henry's widowed father Frederick Troxell. In 1840, they were in De Witt county, Illinois.[4]

Henry and Letha moved to Wapello county, Iowa. Henry had a land patent in Wapello county in 1848.[5] They were listed on the census in 1850.[6] Their unmarried daughter Elizabeth was also in the household as well as their granddaughter Leona Eskew (daughter of their deceased daughter Julia (Troxel) Eskew).

They returned to De Witt county by 1860 where they were living in the community of Wapella in 1860 and 1870.[7][8]

Henry was listed as dying about 1874 in a history of De Witt county.[9] [1]
