Biography

Elizabeth was born about 1792-1796, possibly in Parmleysville, Kentucky, the child of Jacob Troxel and his first wife. Her mother was NOT Cornblossom, fictional daughter of Cherokee Chief Doublehead.

Elizabeth Troxell married James Vaughn, 17 Sep 1812, Wayne, Kentucky[1] Marriage Bondsman was Tarleton Blevins.[2]

James was the Clerk of the Bethel Baptist church from 1836 to August 1840. They late moved to Missouri. (originally on Ancestry 26 Jan 2008 by Ancestry member)

In 1850, she was in Wayne county, Wayne, Kentucky, USA[4]

Jacob Troxel was the father of Cornblossom’s family for his name appears on a bond for his daughter Elizabeth Troxel to marry James Vaughn ca 1808. John Troxel also states Jacob Troxel gave approval for the marriage.
