Biography

William Truscott was born on 16 August 1675 in St Stephen in Brannel The son of John Trescot who was 40 and his mother Sissila Rowe who was 35 He married Mary White in St Mewan on 6 Oct 1694 ^[1] They had 7 sons and 9 daughters

He died In 1707 in St Stephen and was buried there I think this FS death date is wrong as the will Dated 1728 lists the appropriate people

In the name of God amen I William Truscott of the parish of St Stephens in Brannel in the County of Cornwall yeoman being weak in Body but in sound and perfect memory praised be God for it doe make and ordained this my last Will and Testam (Revoking all other and former Wills) in manner and forme Following--

Imp I Commend my soul to Almighty God my maker hoping through the merits of Jesus Christ my Redeemer to Receive full pardon for all my sins, and my body to decent and Christian Buriall--

Item 1 I give unto my daughter Mary Rose one shilling- Item 2 I give unto my Grand Children, Michael Rose, Mary Rose, William Trudgian, Samuel Trudgian, and John Trudgian one Shilling to Each-

Item 3 I give unto my daughter Jane Trudgian Tenn pounds to be paid in one year after my death

Item 4 I give unto my son William Trudgian Fifty pounds, and a new suite of Cloathes next summer and I doe appoint and desire his mother to take care of him, and put the said Fifty pounds Out at Interest and when he shall accomplish the Age of One and Twenty years then the said Fifty pounds with what Interest shall be made of the same shall be paid to him-

Item 5 I give unto my son John Truscott The House he now lives in with the barn stable and oxenhouses together with the Estates thereunto belonging being the Lands of Thomas Pit Esq', (Excepting out of the same what shall be hereafter Excepted and Expressed) that is to say, the House wee now Lives in, with the orchard that lies under the lane that leads from the sd House to Court Mills, with Two Ridges of Potatoes, in the new orchard, and other convenient Garden Roome in the new orchard for setting cawl and sowing seeds, all which I die Except for the only use and Bennifit of my wife Mary Truscott, and Likewise a place in the Co....? or Town place to make her Fewell, and further my will is that a soon and Imeatiatly after my death, that from then and thenceforth he shall pay or cause to be payed out of the same unto my wife Mary Truscott yearly and Every year the sum of four pounds, and Likewise pay the Covenconary Rent for the same and all Rates, Taxes, Tythes and other outgoings whatsoever that is now or shall hereafter be Laid on the same-

Item 6 I give unto my beloved wife Mary Truscott all my household Goods wee now possess-And if she shall happen to marry again that then and from thence forth she shall lose the four pounds yearly as above mentioned, and it shall fall to my son John Truscott he payinge unto my son William Truscott yearly the sume of Twenty shillings dureing the Remainder of the Terme that shall be then to come in the Estate, Freely & Clearly or when she dye it shall be the same as if married in this Article -

Item 7 That further my will is that if she Marry a second time that from thenceforth the house, Orchard & Garden Roome to gather with the household Goods she shall loose, and it shall be my son Williams and if she is a widdow a second time, it shall be come hers againe dureing the time of her Widdowhood, and no longer but be to the use as above directed-

Item 8. I Give unto my dearly beloved wife Mary Truscott All the Rest of my stock, Goods, Chattles, Bonds, Bills, notes, moneys, and Accounts in what nature soever they are and doe make her my whole and sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testam' she paying, performing and fulfilling the same as is above directed in Witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand & seal this Twelth day of Feb 1729 signed, sealed, published, and declared in presence of us.
