Biography

David was the third son, fourth child, of Benjamin Tryon and Hannah Salls. He married Malinda Jenkins, daughter of Edmond Bliss Jenkins and Deraxy Stickney (b abt 1840 NY), between 1860 and 1863. In the 1870 census he is living with Malinda and two children: daughter Alma E born 1863 NY and son Hamer [sic] E, born 1865 in New York. This does not accord with the Woodwaugh web site, which has a son Elmer E born about 1863 and a son Homer E born about 1865. Probably the enumerator mistook the name Elmer for Alma. The 1880 census has son Elmer and son Homer, plus two further sons, Delbert and Carroll.
