Biography

Charles was the first child and first son of John Tryon and Mary Newton. His full name and birth date are attested by his draft registration.[1]

He married May Prucker in Oklahoma. By the time of the 1910 census he was widowed.

By 1930 he was married to Mary Bucy. It is unknown whether she was previously married and whether Bucy is a married or maiden name. She died in 1956 and is buried in the same cemetery as Charles.

CHARLES W. TRYON

LYONS, Neb.—Special: Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Piper chapel for Charles W. Tryon, 78, who died unexpectedly on Monday while working at his sawmill. Rev. J. B. Barnett will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot at Blenoe, Ia.

Mr. Tryon was born in Blencoe, the family moving to Nebraska when he was a boy. They lived on the Tryon ranch west of Lyons. He married May Prucker in Oklahoma. Some years after her death, he married Mrs. Mary Bucy. Mr. and Mrs. Tryon retired from the farm in 1919. Mr. Tryon operating a threshing machine for many years, and recently a sawmill at the north edge of Lyons.

Survivors are the widow, and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Irving Roscoe.[2]
