Biography

Zybah was born in about 1684. There is little constraining his year of birth. He is the son of William Tryon. He married Dorothy Baldwin, daughter of Samuel Baldwin of Guildford, September 1708 in Goshen.[1] "He died in New Fairfield, Connecticut, before 1 Jan 1754 when James Tryon [his son] was appointed admlntstrator of his estate. He married at Wethersfield in September 1708, Dorothy Baldwin, born in Guilford, Connecticut, on 27 December 1683, daughter of Samuel and Abigail (Baldwin) Baldwin of Guilford."

"On 11 July 1726, Ziba Tryon of Wethersfield conveyed three acres to Thomas Harris [son of Walter] in exchange for land in Middletown. Ziba was still "of Wethersfield," however, in January 1734/5, when he sold to Eliphalet Dickinson a two-acre parcel with a dwelling house. He probably moved soon afterward to New Fairfield. He bought the land of Nathan Hollister at New Fairfield on Jan. 27, 1738 [2]. The inventory of his estate in New Fairfield, dated 10 January 1754, included the usual household items, farming tools, a horse and cow, plus the "homested buildings and about 51 acres of land." [3]

His inventory was completed on 10 January 1754 in New Fairfield and recorded in Danbury.[4]

Research Notes

In the TAG article "William of Hartford and Wethersfield, Connecticut" by Gale Ion Harris, Harris states "James (his son) was administrator of his father's estate at New Fairfield in 1754." Ziba's estate is itemized and executor named here [1].

There may be another child given the five year gap between Abigail and Daniel. One speculative one would be Benjamin Tryon (abt.1719-). The 1719 birth year is a total guess and we don't have a record of him until 1760 at the baptism of his 4th child.
