Biography

Isaac was born the second son of William Tryon and Anna Hurlbut at Glastonbury, Conn., about 1790. He married Abigail Shaler or Shaylor, at Rocky Hill, Hartford, Connecticut, Sept. 9, 1813.[1][2] He was a cabinet maker. He died in 1845.[3]

His wife Abigail was born in 1791, and died at Glastonbury, Sept. 29, 1878, aged 87 years.

His estate began probate in 1845 and sons Warren "of Glastonbury" and Anson "of Hartford" were administrators. The estate was distributed in 1848 and the heirs were wife Abigail and: Warren $141, Charles $141, Anson $141, Watson $141, Martha $141, Harriet M. $141, Mary Andrus $141. Note that Jane and Hoadley have passed away before the distribution.

In the property descriptions there is mention of adjoining lots owned by Oswell Tryon (nephew of Isaac) and by Noah Tryon.

Isaac's 1820 census children are Warren, Jane, and Anson. He is noted as Isaac Tryon 3d, presumably because he is the youngest of the three Isaac's living there, all related.

Isaac's 1830 census children: 1m<5 (Hoadley) 2m5-9 (Charles, Watson), 2m10-14 (Warren, Anson), 3f<5 (Martha, Mary, and Harriet), and 1f10-14 (Jane).

In the 1830 census of Glastonbury, page 31, there appears: Elizur, Noah, Elizur, Fanny, Isaac, Thomas, Ezekiel, William, and Prudence, all adjacent. Further up the page is Jesse and the following page is Michael. They are two families; the children and grandchildren of Noah and the children and grandchildren of William. This group remains in 1840, with Noah's offspring being less and William's being the majority. By 1850, William's offspring are still together but others are elsewhere.

Daughter Martha IS the Martha Tryon wife of Dr David Crary, born abt 1827, married 1851, died 10 Dec 1893, buried in Old North Cemetery in Hartford, CT. Age is certainly about right. Link to Tryons is that one of her pall bearers was brother Watson Tryon. Also, a brother-in-law named Hudson Andrews -- his wife was probably Mary Andrews.

Warren, Charles and Harriet must be children based on the probate records. There is also another named Martha not previously noted. The estate was divided equally between the children after wife Abigail's share.

This is another one that I had built according to the Geni tree, which seems to have been based only on same data as the single My Heritage tree, whatever it may be.

It is completely contradictory to the TFA book, and it is deeper in the ancestry than I can vouch for in either case, as to what is correct, so I am going to bail out of this profile as well.

Hello Steven - I think i have things straightened out. One last change to make - will do it later after you review, or you can make the edit. Tryon-430 should be father of your Isaac (and Hurlbut-278 the mother). I have studied more closely the descendant line. I was principally focussed on the ancestors side. This William aligns exactly with the dates you had identified for birth/death.
