Biography

Rolla was born in 1875. The birth certificate of both of his children lists his birthplace as Monroe City, Indiana.[1] His birth date is confirmed by his World War I draft registration.[2]

Occupation: professor of the teaching of history, University of Chicago

Author of academic books:

Household manufactures in the United States, 1640-1860 : a study in industrial history (Chicago : University of Chicago Press, 1917). Available online at https://archive.org/details/cu31924013901727 Judging by the number of citations, this was an important work in, among other studies, feminist history!
The Teaching of History in Junior and Senior High Schools, originally published in 1921 by Ginn and Company. It is a work selected as being culturally important and is available in facsimile reproduction print.

Rolla Tryon married Agnes C. Polk.[3]

He died of cancer of the prostate in 1954.[4]
