Her marriage to Francis Billings on 1 June 1826 is recorded in Deerfield records.[1][2] Children (from 1850 census):
Anne G. Billings b abt 1834 MA
William H. Billings b abt 1836 MA
She is named in her father William's 1834 will.
She died of consumption in 1853 in Deerfield, MA. The death index, however, lists Francis Billings under the column heading of father, rather than as her husband.[3]
Research Notes
Though the inscription on her tombstone is hard to read due to the angle of the sunlight and the shadows cast by the edges of the characters, it appears to show she died at the age of 50 years on 16 Sep 1853. This would accord with her purported birth year of 1803, and with the records of the 1830 and 1850 censuses, and the fact that Francis married a second time in 1856. Amanda was certainly living in 1850.
