Biography
The eldest child of Isaac and Christian Tuck, George Tuck was born in 1818 in Frome, Somerset, England although he wasn't baptised until 1823 at St John, Somerset (an Anglican church). Five siblings followed. In 1841 at the age of 23, he migrated to Oakland county, Michigan USA, possibly via Canada, and in January 1843, he married Canadian-born Lucinda Robinson.
They had nine children, not all of whom appear to have survived to adulthood and lived the rest of their lives in the village of Milford. Of his five siblings, one died in infancy but the others all moved to Caradoc, Middlesex county, Ontario Canada although his sister, Martha subsequently moved to Michigan. George was a farmer and Grand Chapter Royal Arch Mason and appears to have been well known in his community. He died in 1889 of cancer and Lucinda died in 1901 of pneumonia.
