Honour Tucker was baptized 28 February 1612/3 at Saint Andrew, Plymouth in Devonshire, England.[1][2][3] She was very probably the daughter of John Tucker and Urith Dinnis. However, because there were two John Tuckers recording baptisms at Saint Andrew at the time (the other being John Tucker and Margery Peers), and Saint Andrew's records do not appear to distinguish between the two or show the mother's name, the identity of her parents is not completely certain. Her parents are assumed to be John Tucker and Urith Dinnis rather than John Tucker and Margery Peers because Honour's first recorded child was named Eurith. Urith was not an uncommon name in Devonshire at the time, but the child's name is strong circumstantial evidence that Urith Dinnis was Honour's mother.
Marriage
Honour married Robert Stitson at Saint Andrew in Plymouth, Devonshire on May 2, 1635.[4][5][6]
Arrival in New England
As discussed in her husband's profile, Honour and Robert probably arrived in Scituate shortly before June 1640.[7]
Children
Honour and Robert had the following children:
Eurith/Urith, bpt. April 23, 1636[8] or April 26, 1636[9] at Saint Andrews, Plymouth, Devonshire,[8][9] probably died young in England[9]
Joseph, b. say June 1640 in Scituate, Plymouth Colony (based on Bang's analysis, birthdate of June 1639 in "Plymouth Colony Records" and Scituate Vital Records[10] is probably an error),[11] bpt. October 5, 1645 in Scituate[12][11]
Benjamin, b. say August 1642 in Scituate (based on Bang's analysis, birthdate of August 1641 in "Plymouth Colony Records" and Scituate Vital Records[13] is probably an error),[11] bpt. October 5, 1645 in Scituate[12][11]
Thomas, b. say December 1644 in Scituate (based on Bang's analysis, birthdate of December 1641 in "Plymouth Colony Records" and Scituate Vital Records[14] is probably an error),[11] bpt. October 5, 1645 in Scituate[12][11]
Lois, born February 1651/2 in Scituate,[10][20] bpt. March 21, 1651/2 in Scituate[21] no further record, probably died young.[20]
Robert, Jr., b. January 29, 1653 or 1654 in Scituate,[14][20] bpt. October 11, 1653[20] or February 26, 1653/4[21]
Timothy, bpt.a October 11, 1657 in Scituate,[22] no further record, not mentioned in Robert's will, probably died young[23]
Death
Honour probably died sometime after 1684. No record of her death has been found, but according to Briggs, she is believed to have been living when both she and Robert were more than than three score and ten years of age.[24]
