Biography

Marietta was buried in Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Doerun, Colquitt, Georgia, USA along with her husband, Charles Daniel Richter and many other family members.

Appraisal of Marietta Tucker Richter's estate was performed by D. B. Gay, H. Green?, W. H. D. Gay, S. Sloan, and R. S. Watson and the Administrator of her estate was named as C. D. Richter. The appraisal was posted in Hartsfield, Colquitt County on 2 February 1916. Apparently she owned several plots of land in Colquitt County, 90 acres on Davis, 32-1/2 acres on Davis, 25 acres on Davis, simply stated home place, and Buddy Richter home.

"My grandfather, Charlie Linton Richter was telling me about when Marietta, his grandmother died. He was a young boy and he recalled that the family took the children in to say goodbye to her on her death bed. He said her skin was turning dark and he told me what she was dying from but I've since lost the notes in a hurricane. Anyway, he said it scared him when he saw her and he never forgot it."
