Biography

When John was about 19 he married Mary Amelia in about 1814. The couple had one child: James Tullis.

When John was about 22 he married Frances Howard on 27 February 1817 in Warren, Ohio, USA. The couple had 7 children: Mary, John M Tullis, Margaret Tullis, David Henry Tullis, Rebecca Ann , Jonathan Tullis and John W Tullis.[1][2]

Note: 28 April 1831: Frances Tullis, by her mark, relinquishes her right of administration and requests the court appoint brother in law Harvey Tullis administrator; 28 April 1831: Letters of adm. to Harvey Tullis. His signature affixed; 14 May 1831, Appraisal submitted to court; 14 May 1831 Estate sale held; From Court of Common Pleas, Vol 5, p. 50; Sept, 1832. Harvey Tullis filed his account.

Note: "John W. Tullis said have d. 1836, appears to have been m. (1) Mary and (2) Frances (Fanny) who survived him. Minor children: Jonathan, John M., Rebecca Ann, Margaret (may have been Mary's dau.) and David, who d. soon after father.
