When John was about 19 he married Mary Amelia in about 1814. The couple had one child: James Tullis.

When John was about 22 he married Frances Howard on 27 February 1817 in Warren, Ohio, USA. The couple had 7 children: Mary, John M Tullis, Margaret Tullis, David Henry Tullis, Rebecca Ann , Jonathan Tullis and John W Tullis.^[1][2]

His signature affixed; 14 May 1831, Appraisal submitted to court; 14 May 1831 Estate sale held; From Court of Common Pleas, Vol 5, p. 50; Sept, 1832. Harvey Tullis filed his account.
