Reuben, son of Reuben and Rebecca Tuplin of Bullworthy, was baptised 20 July 1825 in Alverdiscott. [1] His family moved to Prince Edward Island in 1836, living at New Annan and settling later at Margate.
Reuben Tuplin and Harriet Tuplin married 11 Feb 1850. The 1861 census shows that he had leased 250 acres fo 995 years. His household consisted of 1 female under 5, 1 male and 1 female 5-16, 2 males 16-21, 3 males and 3 females 21-45. [2] Reubin became a prominent merchant. [3][4] By 1891, they had a daughter. [5]
Reuben died 15 Aug 1899 in Kensington, Prince Edward Island. [6] The burial register indicates the respect his church held for him. "Reuben Tuplin aged 75 died at Kensington buried by Rev. Dr. Sprague, R. Opie, F. Lightman, Wm. A. Thomson" [7]
