Donna Turner, longtime Sioux Falls resident, died November 28, 2011, at Good Samaritan Village. She was 77.
Donna Lee Turner was born February 10, 1934, in Sisseton, SD, to Dennis and Norma (Aadland) Turner. She was baptized on October 29, 1934 in Sisseton. As a young girl, Donna moved with her family to Canistota, SD, where she graduated from high school in 1952.
After living in Rockford, Illinois and Phoenix, Arizona for a period of time, she returned to South Dakota, moving to Sioux Falls in 1965. Donna immediately began working at Midland Distributing in the office. After two decades, she started a new career with Nelson Labs in Sioux Falls. She retired in 1995. A short time later, she worked part-time at Target, retiring again in 2002.
Donna enjoyed reading and listening to music, and particularly liked listening to country gospel. In her free time, she enjoyed going out to dine with friends, and in the late 1990's, she joined her friends on a trip to Hawaii. Donna was caring and loving and had a genuine ability to lift the spirits of those around her. Blessed with a kind and generous heart, Donna's memory will forever be cherished.
Grateful for having shared her life are her special friends, Sheldon and Diane Hovda, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two young sisters, Mary Ann in 1932, and Helen Mae in 1934.
