Thomas was born on Feb 2, 1862 in Alabama. He was the son of Simon Turner and Elizabeth Williams. He grew up, married, and raised his family in and around Willcox and Clay Counties Alabama. He lost a leg from a snake bite and used a crutch to walk after he married. He passed away and was buried in Clay County AL in 1944.
