Lafayette was born in 1880 in Mississippi. He was the son of John Lee Turner and Margaret Franklin. He married his first cousin Ada Turner. He passed away in 1950 and was buried in the Salmon Cemetery located in Randolph community of Pontotoc County, MS. [1]

Rites Held For Houlka Citizen
L A (Leese) Turner, whose name was symbolic of everything in the way of social, civic, economic and religious advancement in Houlka, died late Wednesday evening after a lengthy illness. He was 70.
Services were conducted from the residence Thursday at 3 pm, with the deceased's pastor, Rev. J W Kitchens, officiating, assisted by the Rev. T E Gregory, local Methodist pastor.
Mr. Turner came to Houlka from his farm in Pontotoc county when a young man and engaged in the mercantile business where he remained until a few months ago, when his health failed.
Interment was in Salmon cemetery in Pontotoc with Houlka funeral home in charge.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Ada Turner, two daughters, Mrs. C Y Katzenmier of Port Gibson and Mrs. Udell Stevens of Louisville; two sons, Cobb Turner of Shreveport, La., and Colton Turner of Houlka; two sisters, Mrs. C H Gillespie of Pontotoc; Mrs. Cubel Skein of Jackson; a brother, B W Turner of Crowder and several grandchildren.
