Mr. Bud went ot Business school in Mobile, AL, and taught for a while in ther Business School. Later he returned to Houlka, MS and worked in the Post Office. While there, he was asked to come to the Bank of Houlka and help with the merger of this Bank with the Bank of Houston. This was shortly after the bank closures in the 1930's. He stayed on as bank manager fro 40 years. Mr. Bud retired as Manager of the Bank of Houlka, MS in 1973. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Houlka. He died at the Turner House (his home) in Houlka in 1994. He was hard of hearing, but carried on a delightful conversation in the early 1990's. He had been in bad health for several years prior to his death. He was cared for at home, and was buried in the Salmon Cemetery, located in Randolph, Pontotoc Co., MS.
