Elijah married Edith Jane "Edy" Sarratt before 1797 in what is now Union County, South Carolina.[1] They had the following children:

Elijah died on August 12, 1859 in Spartanburg District, South Carolina, United States, present day Union County. He was buried at Ellis Turner Cemetery in Grassy Pond, Spartanburg County, South Carolina.[3][4]
