Tower....
Wayne was adopted by Wayne Turner Sr. and mother not known at this time. (However, now the obit has been found) He was only 23 years old when he died. Does not look like he was married.
Buddy was born 8/11/1988, in Denver, CO, he found us 3 months later and we adopted him the day after Thanksgiving.
By this time he had already had 3 surgeries to repair things associated with spina bifida. Over the next 22 years he had 33 major surgeries, during all of this he never complained once. He always asked instead "are you guys ok?"
Buddy was very interested in music, puppies, cats and sports. He met numerous sports figures for all of our teams, he was especially proud of the bat that Dante Bichette gave him at spring training, he had to sleep with it and wouldn't let go of it. He became a member of the Colorado Crush family and went to every game he could. He went to every Colorado Mammoth game from the beginning, missing only one or two games due to hospital stays.
Buddy attended Castle Rock Elementary, Rock Ridge Elementary, Sagewood Middle School and Ponderosa High School and then the Castle Rock Bridge Program.
When he was little and his older brother was on the Ponderosa wrestling team Buddy was the mascot and would be out on the mat before the meets, he continued to be a big supporter of the wrestling team through high school, he was really proud when he received his letter from Coach Ottman, loved being the honorary captain.
He started taking Taekwondo/karate, when he was 13 and worked very hard at it. He loved all of his family from Omega martial arts, instructors as well as fellow students. He earned many trophies and medals during competitions. His biggest thrill and accomplishment was earning his Black Belt in 2009. He just earned his 1st Degree Black belt last fall and was working on his 2nd Degree Black when he passed away.
Buddy was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 8909.
He is survived by his parents Wayne and June Turner, brothers Ron Mays, Chris Mays, Robert, Jason, and Joey Turner, sisters, Teresa, Laura, Jennifer, and a boatload of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in by sister, Lisa, both maternal Grandparents and Paternal Grandfather.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, March 3rd, 2011 from 3pm to 7 pm with the recitation of the rosary at 7pm at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Castle Rock. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Friday, March 4th, 2011 also at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church.
