Biography

Lenord Turner was born on 10 Feb 1812 in Fort Ann, Washington County, New York, United States, son of Lenord Turner (1791 - 1871) and Diantha (Blakeman) Turner (1791 - 1871).

His sister was Annis (Turner) Bean (1824 - 1913).

He Married Harriett Cole.

Their Children were:

In the 1850 census Leonard (age 38), Farmer, was in Delaware, Delaware, Ohio, United States.[1]

In the 1860 census Leonard (age 48) was in Delaware, Delaware, Ohio.[2]

In the 1870 census Leonard (age 58), Teamster, was in Delaware, Delaware, Ohio.[3]

Lenord died on 27 Aug 1877 in Delaware County, Ohio aged 65. He is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Delaware, Delaware County, Ohio, USA.[4][5]

Lenord Turner, Jr. (using Leonard on his gravestone) is the son of Lenord Turner and Diantha (Blakeman) Turner.

Leonard married Harriet Cowles (1816-1886) in Delaware County, Ohio, where their children were born.

Children of Leonard and Harriet are:

  • Henry Turner, born September 15, 1833, died May 17, 1916, married Celinda Adalaid Sanders on August 19, 1861
  • Albert Turner, born June 11, 1836, died July 18, 1889

  • He was baptised into the fellowship of the Baptist denomination in the State of New York in 1830.

Leonard and his wife united with Mill Creek Baptish Church by letter, October 1836. They were dismissed by letter in 1854. For a number of years he filled very efficiently, the office of Deacon in the Baptist Church of Delaware, Ohio. He remained in good standing and fellowship until his death, Aug. 27, 1877.
