Biography

Sarah "Sally" Turner was born in Laurens, Laurens, South Carolina in 1780.[1] She was the daughter of George Turner and Nancy Ann Anderson.

She married Rufus Ephriam Potter (1778-1848) in 1798, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. They had one known child.

  1. Richard Marion Potter Sr. (1799-1852)

Her husband passed away on November 3, 1848 in Mayo, Spartanburg County, South Carolina.

In 1850, She was living in Spartanburg, South Carolina in the home of H. Potter-22, a farmer, along with a Mary Potter-17, and Albert H Potter-16.[2]

She is thought to have died in 1870, at about 90 years old, in Mayo, Spartanburg County, South Carolina.
