Biography

William was born 10 Aug 1832, Areley Regis, Worcestershire. He was the son of Abraham Turner and Jane Wilmer. Baptised 14 Sep 1832, St Bartholomew, Areley Kings, Worcestershire, England. [1]

In 1851, he is living with his widowed father in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, England[2]

Sailed for New Zealand in the Duke of Portland, 8th November 1853, arriving at Nelson 8th February 1854.

He married Isabella MacKay, 3 Jul 1862, Wakapuaka, Nelson, Nelson, New Zealand. [3] [4]
Their children were:

  1. Annie Jane (Turner) Hermon (1863 - 1889)
  2. Charles William James Turner (1865 - 1941)
  3. Dora Frances Turner (1868 - 1944)
  4. Harold Wilmer Turner (1869 - 1914).

William died 2 Dec 1910 Wakapuaka, Nelson, Nelson, New Zealand, aged 78 years.[5] [6] Buried Wakapuaka Cemetery, Nelson, Nelson City, Nelson, New Zealand [7]
