Biography

William was born 10 Aug 1832, Areley Regis, Worcestershire. He was the son of Abraham Turner and Jane Wilmer. Baptised 14 Sep 1832, St Bartholomew, Areley Kings, Worcestershire, England. ^[1]

In 1851, he is living with his widowed father in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, England^[2]

Sailed for New Zealand in the Duke of Portland, 8th November 1853, arriving at Nelson 8th February 1854.

He married Isabella MacKay, 3 Jul 1862, Wakapuaka, Nelson, Nelson, New Zealand. ^{[3] [4]}
Their children were:

1. Annie Jane (Turner) Hermon (1863 - 1889)
2. Charles William James Turner (1865 - 1941)
3. Dora Frances Turner (1868 - 1944)
4. Harold Wilmer Turner (1869 - 1914).
