Retired Justice Of Peace Dies; Funeral Tuesday [2]

Henry Allen Turner, 80 year-old retired farmer, died early Monday at Magee Hospital.

Mr. Turner had also been a school teacher and served as Justice of the Peace for two terms. He was a member and senior deacon of the New Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was a Mason.

For a number of years, Mr. Turner was Superintendent of the Sunday School at Bethlehem Church. His wife died thirteen years ago and one of his sons died eighteen years ago.

Surviving are two sons, Ellis A. Turner of Jackson and Jim H. Turner of Magee; one daughter, Mrs. R. C. Bounds of Weathersby; four foster-sons, Bill and Haywood Oliphant, both of Memphis, Master Sgt. Raymond Reed of Charleston, W. Virginia, and Berlin Posey of Greenwood; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Johnnie Turner of Mendenhall and Joe Turner of Rayville, La.; and one sister, Mrs. Ellis Parker of Mendenhall.

Services were held from New Bethlehem Church Tuesday morning at ten o'clock. Burial was in the church cemetery with Mims Mitchell Funeral Home In charge. Officiating ministers were Rev. G. O. Parker and Rev. H. A. Kennon.
