Biography

Belle was born in 1868. She was the daughter of Frank Tuttle and Elizabeth Overton. She passed away in 1954. [1]


Residence:

1880 – Kentucky, Breckinridge County, Cut Off, 14 Jun 1880 The 116th dwelling in the census is the Francis Marion Tuttle family. Francis Marion (33), wife Elizabeth M. (32) and children William Sherman (12), Belle Mae (8), Victoria (6), John Thomas (3) and Jennie (1) are all that are reported at the home. Francis is a farm laborer. He reports his parents are both from Kentucky and his wife reports her father is from Virginia and her mother is from Kentucky.

1900 – Kentucky, Breckinridge County, Glendean, District 13, 5 Jun 1910 The 37th family in the census is the Will Goldsmith family, Will (38), wife Belle M. (26) and children Eldora E. (6), Franklin H. (4) and Vernice L. (11 mos.) are living on the farm they own. Will and Belle report to have been married for 7 years and all three of their children are still alive. Belle reports here date of birth to be Sep 1873. Everyone reports they and their parents were born in Kentucky.

1910 – Kentucky, Breckinridge County, Magisterial District 5, 27 Apr 1910 The 137th family of the census is the William Goldsmith family with William (52), Belle (36) and children Eldora (16), Frank (15), Burnie (10), Dempster (6) are living on the farm they rent. William is a general farmer. The couple reports to have been married for 18 years and report four of their five children are still living suggesting a child was born and died in-between census periods.

1918 – Kentucky, Breckinridge County, Hudson, 29 Mar 1918 The death record for William H. Goldsmith shows his date of birth as 25 Dec 1857 in Kentucky. No information is provided about his parents. He is reported to have been a farmer and the informant is Belle Goldsmith. He was to be buried in Coyles Cemetery in Breckinridge County.

1920 – Kentucky, Breckinridge County, Hudson, District 14, 8 Apr 1920 Belle Goldsmith (47) is reported as a widow and is living with her sister and her husband, Herbie E. (32) Quiggins and Hattie (30) in the home they own. Herbie is a farmer.

1930 – Kentucky,

1940 – Kentucky, Breckinridge County, Cloverport, District 14-5, 12 Apr 1940 Sheet 8A shows Belle Goldsmith (68) a widow, who is renting the home she lives in for $3. She reports she was born in Kentucky and has an 8th grade education. She reports she lived in Constantine, Breckinridge County in 1935. She has no occupation.
