Biography

Jennie was born in 1880. She was the daughter of Frank Tuttle and Elizabeth Overton. She passed away in 1964. ^[1]

The 116th dwelling in the census is the Francis Marion Tuttle family. Francis Marion (33), wife Elizabeth M. (32) and children William Sherman (12), Belle Mae (8), Victoria (6), John Thomas (3) and Jennie (1) are all that are reported at the home. Francis is a farm laborer. He reports his parents are both from Kentucky and his wife reports her father is from Virginia and her mother is from Kentucky.

The 238th dwelling in the census is the F. Tuttle family. F. (51), wife Eliz. (51) and children Jannie (20), Samuel M. (11), Annie G. (15), Ruthie (11). The census copy on Ancestry is quite poor and much of the information is impossible to make out it. It appears that oldest daughter Jannie is married and her husband and children, Nice Thompson and J Thompson and L Thompson are living with them as well. It appears that either 7 or 9 of their 11 children are still alive and daughter Jannie reports that both of her children are still alive. Any other information included in this census is illegible in this copy.

Nace (43) and wife Jennie L. (40) are living in the house them own with their sons Claude (19) and Jake (15). Nace is a blacksmith helper and Claude is a bookkeeper for a rubber company.

1930 – Kentucky, Jefferson, Louisville, 1532 Hemlock Street, 3 Apr 1930
Nace (55) and wife Jennie L. (51) are living in the house them own. Also living with them is son, Claud D. (30), his wife, Thelma L. (27) and granddaughter C. Lavoy (6). The home is valued at $1,800. Nace and Jennie report to have been married 33 years and Claud and Thelma report to have been married for 8 years. Thelma and her parents are from Mississippi but everyone else is from Kentucky. Nace has no job, Claud is a captain for the City Fire Department and Thelma is a clerk at a doctors office.

1940 – Kentucky, Jefferson County, LouisvilleDistrict 121-358, 13 Apr 1940
Sheet 16B shows Nace Thompson (64) and wife Jennie (60) living in the house they own at 1532 Hemlock. The home is valued at $3,000. Nace reports he has a 4th grade education and Jennie an 8th grade education. The couple reports they were living in the same house in 1935 Neither is employed or working.
