1900 – Kentucky, Breckinridge County, Custer, District 10, 26 Jun 1900 The 254th family in the census is the John T. Tuttle family. John T. (23) and wife Edna L. (20) along with daughter Lettie (1) are living in the house they rent. The couple reports to have been married for two years and Lettie is their only child. Can not make out the occupation of John. John reports being unable to either read or write while his wife reports to be able to do both.
1910 – Kentucky, Breckinridge County, District 2, 5 May 1910 Lettie Tuttle (11) and Jesse P. Tuttle (8) are both listed as step-daughter’s living with John O. Pate (35) and his wife Florence E. (33) and their daughter Nettie L. Pate (2 mos.). John reports this is his first marriage and the second for Florence. Florence reports that all three of her children are alive. The couple appears to have been married for slightly over two years. John O. is listed as a general farmer and everyone reports they and their parents are born in Kentucky.
