JESSIE T. SMITH Our gentle and care giving family Matriarch has passed away. Jessie Belle Tye Smith, of Taylorsville died August 2, 1999. She was born February 8, 1908 in Ephraim, Utah, to Mary Rassmussen and Jesse Warren Tye. She married Henry McDonough Smith, he passed away in 1965. Jessie leased and operated the Cafe at the Meadowbrook Golf Course, retiring in 1972. She was a caring friend to the many patrons dining there. Jessie is a member of the LDS Church and served as a Relief Society president as well as numerous other positions. Jessie gave countless hours of love, care and support to her progeny. She is greatly missed. Survived by her daughter and sons, Lois, Reed, Ray, Gregory McDonough, Michael and Jesse; 27 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 6, 1999 at 11 a.m. at the Taylorsville Stake Center, 1399 West 4800 South. Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State St. and Friday at the church one hour prior to services. Interment Salt Lake City Cemetery. The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to her niece, Kathryn Hall, for her loving care.
