"New Bern District, Civil Action Papers, NC Archives Coll. DSCR 206.326, Box 1 State of North Carolina — Pitt County Whereas information has bin made to me One of the Justice for the County aforesaid that Jehu Tison at a private Muster called by Capt. Henry ELLIS in Order to put his Company into divisions agreeable to his instructions that the aforesaid Jehu TISON behaved himself disorderly and Declared against Drafting and further insisting that he would not abide by the said Draft and further Took a mugg of Licgure and Drank King Georges Health and Success to Great Brittain which is contrary to the interests and good government of the said State You are hereby Command by Authority of the said State to apprehend the body of the said Jehu TISON and bring him before me that he may be dealt with according to Law made and provided in such cases — given under my hand and seal this 4th day of August 1777 Lord. JEHU TISON, BRITISH SYMPATHIZER James LANIER"
