Biography

George was an oil field worker, a vocation that he loved. In early childhood, he was a well pumper, later owning and operating a well cleaning machine. His avocation was a small farm operation and gardening. His latter years were spent on a small farm in Morrow County, where in retirement he repaired and refinished antique furniture. He was devout Christian and Bible student, although he never joined an organized church. He was reared by strict Mennonite parents and the teachings instilled in him as a child stayed with him throughout his life. He was married twice.
