Research Notes

Her mother-in-law Leah (Williams) Jackson remarried to John Pattison and his last Will mentioned Ralph Jackson, Jr. "for love and afffection" and for taking care of him in his last years.

Obedience is on deeds with her husband, Ralph Jackson, Jr., but no last name has been proven. She may have been a Lewis, or her father may have been named Lewis, but so far, no proof found.

Examples of deeds where she is listed as wife of Ralph Jackson are ...

On 30 June 1732 Ralph Jackson of Henrico County, Virginia sold to John Nash for 40L, 275 acres on the south side of Swift Creek where John Grissel now lives, being choice which said Ralph and his brother Daniel made of a gift of same land entered by their father Ralph Jackson, deceased, and by said Daniel Jackson sold to said Ralph, next to Peter Field and John and Ann Nash.
Witnesses: Thomas Spencer and John Grissell.
Obedience Jackson relinquished dower. [1]

(signature) Ralph (R) Jackson

Obedience, wife of Ralph, relinquished her dower right.

It appears that Ralph Jackson, Jr. devised all of his land prior to his death, and left no known Will. This included land in Amelia, Henrico and Chesterfield counties in Virginia. He may have been living with one of those children at the time of his death.

UNKNOWN-119260 and Unknown-508648 appear to represent the same person because: dups with same husband and same son Lewis. Final profile surname should NOT be in all capital letters. Thanks
