Biography

His son-in-law, Sir DAVID HANMER (d. c. 1388)became a justice of the king's bench in 1383 and was knighted in 1387. He m. Agnes (or Angharad ), daughter of Llywelyn Ddu ap Gruffydd ap Iorwerth, and the Welsh tone of the family appears in the support they gave to Owain Glyn Dŵr (q.v.), who m. Sir David's daughter Margaret.^[1]

Iorwerth Vychan ap Iorwerth Gam, who m. a Catherine, dau. of Llewelyn ap Griffith, Prince of North Wales, by whom he had a son,

Iorwerth Voel ap Iorwerth Vychan, who was witness to a deed of Hamner 6th Edward II. He m. Gwladys, dau. and heir of Iorwerth ap Griffith, of Brochwell and Llowarch, derived through Gwyn ap Griffith, Lord of Guilsfield, from Brochwel Ysgrithog,Prince of Powys. (Refer to BURKE'S Peerage and Parentage LORD BLAYNEY). Of this marriage there was issue:

i Madoc Lloyd ap Iorwerth Voel, who m. Margaret, dau. of Llewelyn ap Ievan ap Adda ap Awr, of Trevor, and had issue:

I Susanna m. Ievan ap Llewelyn, Baron of Crogen and Branas, co. Merioneth, living 2 Nov. 8 Edward III and 44 Edward III, and was mother of a dau. and heiress,

Margaret, Baroness of Crogen and Branas, under age, 44 Edward III mother, by her husband ,Ievan ap Llewelyn Ddu, III Baron of Kymmer-yn-Edeirnion, co. Merioneth, of a son and heir,
