Elizabeth Catharine Ermentraudt was born the daughter of Johann Philipus (John Philip) Ermentraudt Ermentrout 1699–1753 who was born in GERMANY and his wife, Anna Elizabeth HEDDERICH 1707–1740.

The book "Oxcarts through the Cumberland Gap", Volume 4a by Helen Spurlin published in 1993 states that Johann "Andrew" Vogt married Elizabeth circa 1741-1744, when he was about 20-23 years old. Yet two other sources, both - International Marriage Records states the date of marriage as 1741 in Virginia while the other states the date as 1743 in Virginia.
