Biography

Elizabeth (Acy) Swan immigrated to New England as a child during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640).

1632 - From the Parish Registers of Cottingham-Baptisms:[1]

"1632 Elizabetha filia Gulielmi Acye 22 die Martij"

Elizabeth’s Haverhill, MA death record of 11 Aug 1689 noted she was "in her 57th year" confirming a birth date of 1632.

Autumn - December 1638 -- William Acy, his wife, and their children emigrated from Hull, East Riding, Yorkshire, England on the ship John of London to Salem then Boston, Massachusetts Bay Colony with Rev. Ezekiel Rogers's group.[2]

April 1639 -- Rev. Ezekiel Rogers group took possession of a tract of land between the towns of Newbury and Ipswich, Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony. They named their town "Rowley" for the village of Rowley, East. Riding, Yorkshire where Rev. Rogers had lived and preached.[2][3]

Elizabeth (Acy) married Robert Swan.[4]
