| Hannah (UNKNOWN) Allen migrated to New England during the Puritan Great Migration (1621-1640). Join: Puritan Great Migration Project Discuss: pgm |
Disputed origins:
Some family files report Hannah born June 21, 1626 at Sandwich, and her father, Roger Calib.
The authors of the Great Migration article about George Allen called her Hannah _____.[1]
Following some collaboration, no historical justification was discovered to support the Calib association. The relationship between Hannah and George Calib was severed.
Hannah died say about 1682, as sometime "after 1682," George had married again to Sarah ______.[5]
Hannah married George Allen, Jr, 1645, Massachusetts[6]
Children
Although the available land records indicate that George and Hannah purchased land in 1670 in that portion of the Province of East Jersey that was later formed into Monmouth County, New Jersey, they apparently never moved there. The majority of their children, however, eventually moved to New Jersey, settling in either Burlington County, or in the vicinity of Shrewsbury in Monmouth County. In 1683, George and Hannah's relationship with the Quakers of Sandwich became strained over the marriage of their daughter, Lydia, to Edward Wooley who was not a Quaker. Hannah subsequently died at Sandwich about two years later in 1685.
Disputed Birth 21 Jun 1626 Sandwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts, United States/[2] No known records discovered so far indicating parents, date, or location of birth. Cannot have been born in Sandwich, Massachusetts; it didn't exist until 1637.
Given her approximate date of birth based on husband's age and age of first child, it seems reasonable to believe that Hannah was born in England and came over to the New World with her family.

Name: Hannah CALIB Sex: F Birth: 21 JUN 1626 in England Death: BEF 1687 in Sandwich, Barnstable, MA
I suspect the birth date of 1619 came from someone making a guess based on the same year as husband George. The only thing I can find to support the June 21, 1626 birth date - and father Roger Calib - are unsourced trees at Ancestry and RootsWeb.
This is almost certainly the woman Robert Charles Anderson called Hannah ________. Citing "MD 14168" Anderson reports their eldest child was born at Sandwich 1648.
But for the problematic associated father and birth data, this Hannah could be merged into the duplicate Hannah ____ profile.
American Ancestors returns no hits for a broad query of either name, Roger Calib/Hannah Calib.
"Disputed existence" template was posted to Roger Calib's profile on 25 September 2014, with no further response from collaborators.
Propose that Hannah be severed from the questionable father and merged into Hannah (______) Allen.
It probably makes sense to collaborate about the conflicted parentage before advancing the merge.
Because of position during GED import (following George Allen family), almost certainly Hannah __?__, wife of George Allen Jr.
