Biography
Betty was born to Thomas and Betty, and baptised in 1797. In 1826 she married Ephraim and they had four children, but only two were still alive at the 1841 census.
Ephraim died in 1869 and at the 1871 census Betty was living in Yapton with a grandson, Benjamin Challen aged 8, and a servant. She was still in Yapton at the 1881 census, now with a servant and a nurse.
When Betty died in 1890 her estate was valued at £147 18s. 8p., her executors were William Adames of Church Farm Pagham and George Gadd of Westergate.
