Research Notes
An Elizabeth Newton was buried at Heckington, Lincolnshire on 27 August 1653. The parish register gives no other details apart from her name, so it is not apparent how old she was or whether she was a married woman. The register at this time (during the Commonwealth) provided little additional detail for relationship. There are isolated single notes of "Wid" "son of" and "the Elder" over a 4 year period on this one page. [4] [1655] Elizabeth Newton was buried August 27th

Elizabeth Fockington was baptised with just this one forename at Heckingham 29 December 1613. What is the evidence that she was the same Elizabeth who became the wife of Richard Newton?
