Elizabeth Pinch was born in 1817 in Roche, Cornwall, England, United Kingdom, daughter of William Pinch (1791–1874) and Grace Key (1795–1879). She was baptized there on 10 June 1816.^{[citation needed]}

Elizabeth Pinch married Henry Hooper by banns on 21 May 1836 in Roche. Both were previously unmarried and of the parish of Roche. The groom signed the register with his name and the bride signed by mark. The witnesses were Richard Hooper and Robert Hooper senior. ^[1]
