Maria/Mary Elizabeth Martin was born about 1730 in Allegheny, PA. She was the daughter of Moses Martin and Margaret Battin. In 1747 she married Hans Wendel Brecht. They had two known children. By 1780s they had moved from Pennsylvania to Alexandria, Virginia. It is here she passed away in 1793.[2]
