Richard received a patent for 100 acres of land in 1632. [1]This patent was abstracted in Cavaliers and Pioneers: "Due by order of Ct. dated March 1632, viz: 50 for his owne per. adv. in the Abigall 1621 at the charge of Capt. William Peirce, & 50 acs. in right of his wife whoe came in the Tyger 1621 at his owne charge."[2] The 1625/25 Muster of Virginia noted that Richard had sailed on the Merchant of London in 1620/21and that his wife (whose named as listed as Abigail) arrived on the Abigail that same year.

Joan was left a widow by Richard and subsequently married George Loveday.

There is clearly an issue with this tree as a woman who was born in 1600 could not possibly be the mother of a man born in 1667. What is known is that Jone was married to Richard Atkins who died about 1679 in Surry County, Virginia. It appears as though they had two sons - Thomas b. c. 1667 and Richard b. c.1670 - based on their first appearances in the tithable records for Surry County in the household of George Loveday. Thomas first appeared in 1683 and Richard in 1686 - likely as each man turned 16 and became taxable. This tree is likely missing one or more generations before Richard and Jone.

UNKNOWN-60082 and Warren-3371 appear to represent the same person because: Please consider
Atkins-1112 and UNKNOWN-60082 do not represent the same person because: The sons birth years differ, one Thomas is 1620 and the other 1667
