Research Notes

There is no evidence that Elizabeth and Richard Knowlton ever had a son, William Knowlton, who emigrated to Ipswich, MA. This is an invention of Dr. Stocking in his Knowlton Genealogy. The Kent Knowltons (Richard and Elizabeth) were likely 'Knowldens'. This is supported by the marriage record of Rycherd Knowlden and Elizabeth Cantize.^[1]
