Research Notes

The Ontario death certificate of her son John Unger McClellan shows Emeline's birthplace as Albany NY as does the Michigan death record for her daughter Amelia Louisa McClellan Clark .
Many online trees have parents listed, however there is no evidence at all of either August Unger and Caroline Swartz as the parents of Emeline Unger.
Or of other parents often listed Adam Unger and Elizabeth Koehner.
The records of the various Mennonite Unger families who moved to the Waterloo area of Ontario are quite clear, every child plus their spouses and further descendants are listed, nowhere is there a mention of an Emeline.
The only possibility is that she is unmentioned in the family histories because she married out of the faith. Which still leaves no record. .
The 1861 Census of Canada for Alton, lists an Unger family of 4 people either living with or next door to William and Emeline, the family includes a male J Unger aged 74, birth about 1787, 20 years older than Emeline, perhaps her father.

There is a record in the Haldimand papers of a Dr Jan Unger working in the Loyalist refugee camps located along the St Lawrence river. The Papers contain the correspondence and records of Frederick Haldimand in his role as a military officer, commander, and governor at various locations that included Trois-Rivières, Florida, New York, and Quebec. https://loyalist.lib.unb.ca/node/4293
Other Ungers lived in Brighton, Northumberland County, Canada West this family has many names in common with the Haldimand Township Ungers, perhaps they or their descendants moved east. .
There are also Ungers living in Haldimand Township part of Northumberland County, Ontario, (previously described as on the north shore of Lake Erie about 50 miles from Niagara on the Lake)'.
Haldimand Township is in Northumberland County not in Haldimand County. This is one of locations where both the township name and the county name need to be included in the location.
Another possibilty: there were Unger families living in North Collins, Erie County, NY, about 60 miles from Niagara on the Lake .

Unger-141 and Unger-138 appear to represent the same person because: Unger-138 is the original entry, Unger-141 has a 1 letter spelling difference and less information, the most common spelling is Emeline and is the spelling used on her headstone
