Biography

Elizabeth (Unknown) Pratt was born in Hertfordshire, England.

Rev. William Pratt baptized at Baldock October 1562, and was inducted into the office of Rector of the Parish of Stevenage, Hertfordshire, England, December 6th 1598. William married a lady whose Christian name was Elizabeth, but whose family name has not been found, by whom he had six children. ^[1]

Elizabeth's birth is based on the narrative at Pratt History and the years of birth of her children.

The marriage of William and Elizabeth is based on "England Marriages, 1538–1973 ," index, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/NJZN-L2Q : accessed 26 Sep 2013), William Pratt and Elizabeth Lens, 1604., which would also support her last name of Lens. The fact that many Pratt family genealogists have discounted this record is not understood at this time.
