From History of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania:
Joseph, and Mary Phillips, emigrated from Wales, about the middle of the eighteenth century and settled in Lancaster county. Pa., where they died in prosperous circumstances, leaving their offspring well off.He married a Welsh lady, whose first name was Mary, and three children, David, John and Joseph,
