Biography
- Hester and their daughter Judith are apparently named on a land warrant issued on behalf of Thomas in South Carolina in 1672. This would mean the speculative birth dates for the entire family are in question.
- There is more information regarding land warrants and the like in an obscure book, The Ancestry and Known Descendants of Joseph Lane, 1770-1850, of Marion County, South Carolina, and Simpson County, Mississippi by William Arnold Sirmon 1989.[1] The book is listed on the internet, but I have yet to locate a copy of same. The aforementioned Joseph Lane is a great-great-grandson of Thomas and Hester Lane.
- Some genealogies name her as Alice Bagot b. 1585 making her some 65 years her husband's elder, and about 100 years old when her children were born.
