- Not much is known of Alexander Maddox's first wife. She had died by the time Alexander made his 1660 WFT when he named his 2nd wife as ELINOR. Only her first name ELIZABETH seems to be accepted, and even this currently has no good citation.

You are correct, Robyn. The Elizabeth Fisher Maddox is the daughter of Alexander, not his wife. Alexander's first wife's maiden name has not yet been proven, so should be "Unknown."

I don't believe her name is Fisher. She is only Elizabeth in the will. Her daughter Elizabeth however, married Capt. Phillip Fisher and WAS known as Elizabeth Fisher. (Is listed in her father's will that way) The Eastern Shore VA Library Miles files offers the mother's maiden name as Johnson with no definite source.
